Housing
Family Housing. Powered by Peer Support. Built for Lasting Recovery
At The Peer Company, we believe stable housing is foundational to long-term health, wellness, and recovery. Alyssa Daye Gardens is rooted in lived experience and intentionally designed to keep people connected to their families, their communities, and the support they need to thrive.
Alyssa Daye Gardens
Launching in 2026, Alyssa Daye Gardens will offer 31 units of permanent supportive housing for families. This project is designed to keep families together while providing the stability and support needed for long-term well-being.
Families will have access to voluntary, peer-delivered services and wraparound support at our peer community center next door, fully realizing the vision for our Recovery Campus in Southeast Portland. This integrated approach ensures continuity, builds community connections, and supports families in creating a strong foundation for the future.
Permanent supportive housing is a nationally recognized, evidence-based model proven to reduce chronic homelessness and improve long-term outcomes. By integrating stable housing with peer support and whole health, recovery-focused skill-building services, Alyssa Daye Gardens will create a space where families can heal, grow, and move forward together.
Recovery is real. We recover in community. Families heal together.
Our Approach
Housing Matters. Powered by Peer Support.
Alyssa Daye Gardens is grounded in supportive housing for families, recognizing that stable housing is a prerequisite for health, wellness, and recovery. This innovative peer-driven approach is essential to providing an environment where families can heal, build and grow.
What makes this model especially effective is the intentional integration of peer-delivered, wraparound support. While housing provides the foundation, long-term stability depends on consistent, relationship-based support.
The Peer Company achieves this goal through peer services, recovery resources, and community connection, all rooted in lived experience. By doing so, we ensure the model is implemented with fidelity—supporting families not just in obtaining housing, but in sustaining it and achieving their long-term goals.
Case for Support
Why This Work Matters
Across our community, families are facing the overlapping challenges of houselessness and seeking support for mental health and addiction challenges. Too often, systems force parents and children to separate to access recovery-oriented services and housing resources—creating additional trauma and instability at the very moment support is needed most.
Alyssa Daye Gardens offers a different path. This project is built on the belief that families belong together, and that recovery happens in community. By integrating stable, long-term housing with tailored, peer-delivered supportive services, we are advancing a proven model that addresses both immediate needs and long-term housing stability, health, and well-being.
This is more than housing. It is a place where families can rebuild trust, strengthen relationships, and move forward with the tools and support they need to not just survive but to thrive. This model is designed to reduce returns to homelessness, nourish family stability, and improve long-term health outcomes.
It is a space grounded in lived experience, where support comes from people who understand the journey.
Investment in Alyssa Daye Gardens is an investment in breaking cycles—of houselessness, disconnection, and hopelessness. It is an opportunity to create lasting change for families today and for generations to come.
Honoring Alyssa Daye
A Legacy of Love and Belief in Recovery
Alyssa Daye Gardens is named in loving memory of Alyssa Daye, daughter of Executive Director, Janie Gullickson. Alyssa was a fierce believer in her mom’s ability to recover. Through every challenge, every set back she never lost hope that her mother could and would recover. Alyssa extended that deep belief in the power of healing and restoration not just to her family but for all.
Alyssa loved children and believed deeply in the importance of family and connection. She would be proud to have her name connected to a place where families can stay together, supported and connected, as they navigate their journey.
In her honor, the site will include pink flowering trees—Alyssa’s favorite color—that will bloom each February, the month of her birthday. This living tribute reflects her spirit, her love, and her enduring belief in hope and recovery.
Alyssa’s legacy lives on here—rooted in love, carried forward in community, and reflected in every family that finds stability, connection, and hope.
